NEWPORT BEACH WEDDING – BAHER & NOURANE

Newport Beach, CA: Baher & Nourane had a traditional Coptic Orthodox ceremony at the Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church in Santa Ana. Despite the Ring bearer taking a nap halfway through – the ceremony was beautiful, poignant and a pleasure to photograph. Their lively reception was held at the Newport Beach Marriott.

ANNIE & TOM’S WEDDING, SUMMIT HOUSE RESTAURANT, FULLERTON

It was a cloudy day, but Annie and Tom shone brightly for Chris as he covered their wedding at The Summit House Restaurant in Fullerton. They are a great couple that really knew how to throw a party. Tom was also the only groom we’ve known to show up in a Lamborghini! The closest we’ve ever come to owning one was during childhood days when Micro Machines were all the rage, and the Lamborghini was the king pin of every boys collection – so jealousy was an emotion Chris had to suppress when shooting their very cool first look shoot.

Now, this is a game we haven’t seen before. The Groom has to carry the Bride around the room with a bucket to collect “Good Luck” money….and they are making him run all over the place. If he gets tired and drops her, no more money!

SUNSET WEDDING AT ZUMA BEACH, MALIBU

Last weekend we sent Chris off to photograph our first wedding of 2010! The wedding of Jeff and Yukiko took place on Zuma Beach in Malibu, outside The Sunset Restaurant.… at sunset. As could be imagined, the light quality was truely magical and Chris was able to bag some gorgeous classic sunset images for this wonderful couple.

Jacob awarded by the WPJA!

Jacob recently became a member of the prestigious Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) – a great achievement in itself as it is a fantastic organization who are notoriously fussy (in a good way) about the caliber of photographer they let in. In order to join you have to display a real competency in photography, a large body of purely photojournalistic wedding work, and possess an excellent track record with past clients – ideal qualities for a Jinger Studios Photographer! Sadly the WPJA do not let whole “studios” join, nevertheless we are very proud to have WPJA members in our ranks (Chris is also a member).

As if being given the nod of quality from a respected organization wasn’t enough – Jacob has promptly gone on to win an award from them. Chosen from thousands of highly talented applicants, Jacob’s image of a boy jumping around in his suit before a wedding was ranked 15th in the Quarterly photo contest in it’s category “Getting Ready”. We’ve always loved Jacob’s ability to capture these great candid action shots and are delighted his work has been recognized by the WPJA!

UK DESTINATION WEDDING VENUE – BELVOIR CASTLE

Rupert is our resident UK wedding photographer, so if you are planning a destination wedding in the UK or Europe, don’t spend a fortune flying a photographer from the US – Rupert can get to most European destination wedding venues at a fraction of the cost of any US wedding photographer.

In addition to wedding photography, Rupert’s love of Landscape and interior photography caught the discerning eye of the Duchess of Rutland who’s publishing team enlisted Rupert’s help in the production of the book, ‘Belvoir Castle – A Thousand Years of Family, Art and Architecture’ which was published in the UK just before Christmas by Frances Lincoln.

Belvoir is one of the least known great houses in Britain. Rising like a fairy palace over the plains of the Vale of Belvoir in Leicestershire, and dating back originally to 1067, it is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland, and a perfect wedding venue for a UK destination wedding! Rupert now shoots a number of his weddings at Belvoir , and has become very familiar with the castle and all its nooks and crannies.

Here are some of Rupert’s vibrant images he took during his many photo shoots at Belvoir Castle during the production of the book, including a number of portraits of the Duke and Duchess.

Wedding in Irvine, CA

Weddings are tricky events to photograph at the best of times, and who would have thought that a So Cal wedding would be blessed with rain outside of the Jan – Feb showers? The heavens were clearly rejoicing when Phil and Denise tied the knot in early December – but the eternally talented Jacob really turned a tricky situation into a creative opportunity with this gorgeous rain drenched portrait. Happy Couples always make for the best wedding portraits, and Phil and Denise were such troopers despite the dodgy weather conditions.

Christopher Seid Joins the Jinger peeps

We got all excited last week because the hugely talented, fun loving Chris Seid became a part of Jinger Studios. Some years ago, Chris decided to embark on a career change and enrolled in an interior design course – the course didn’t exactly set his imagination on fire, but the photography he was required to produce to document his projects stole the show, and he promptly dropped interior design for a photography course. Over the space of only a few years, Chris is ever so bashful about the quality of his imagery, yet he has honed his skills and style very rapidly to become a real master of his trade and we are really excited for all our future couples who choose him!
